Pilot testing of battery energy storage with EV charging completed [Bratislava, Slovakia, November 15th, 2020] ZSE completed pilot testing of the battery energy storage system at Piešťany, Slovakia, which provides multiple EV charging and electricity market services. The primary focus of this pilot was to test how well the BESS can be ulized for supporting two EV fast chargers for peak load shaving and load shifting. In addition, the pilot also focused on testing the BESS as a backup source to support the entire operation of the charging station in the off-grid mode. In the pilot testing, ENAIRGY provided a broad scope of consulting services focused on the technology design and requirements, definition of the use cases, and evaluation of the technical and business feasibility of the BESS.
